It's officially The Dining Divas birthday season! This time, we went to The King's Arms to celebrate Nadia's birthday. This restaurant is a British-style pub located in downtown Oakville, just outside of the core.

The atmosphere was energetic, with loud music that set the perfect backdrop for an amazing experience. The playlist was spot on, featuring a mix of dancehall and RnB tunes that kept everyone in high spirits. The big TVs showcased an exciting football game between Oklahoma and Tennessee, adding to the excitement for the evening. The venue was packed with enthusiastic fans, creating a lively and vibrant environment. We all were so caught up in the music and excitement that we couldn't stop dancing in our seats!

Menu

Tanisha

To drink, I had a French 75, which was SO GOOD that I actually had three by the end of the night. This cocktail is made with gin, prosecco, lemon and cane syrup. I have a new fave! Gin AND prosecco?? You can't go wrong with that combination!

To start, Nadia and I shared mussels as an appetizer. It was really tasty! It came in a cream sauce with feta cheese and tomatoes - absolutely delicious! I also tasted the Calamari and Pork Gyoza Dumplings, both of which were fantastic. I could go back to this restaurant and just have apps...so many on the menu looked good, but I couldn't order all.

For my main, I had the Korean Steak BBQ Bowl. It came with basmati rice, a miso sesame sauce and a wasabi lime crema. I had to take some of it home because I was full from all the appetizers, but it was too good and I could not let it go to waste.

For my drinks, I indulged in two delightful Strawberry Margaritas, each perfectly sweetened and adorned with a generous rim of thick, chunky salt. This combination created a harmonious balance of flavors that was simply irresistible.

I started with some fish tacos, where the spice level was just right, and the soft wrap enveloped the flavors perfectly.

Then, I went on to the Salmon Buddha Bowl. The dish was a delightful medley of textures and tastes. The salmon was perfectly cooked, adding a rich, savory depth. The bowl featured a colorful array of tricolor quinoa, which provided a nutty and wholesome base. The sweetness from the juicy pineapple paired beautifully with the umami-rich miso-inspired sauce, creating a harmonious balance of flavors. Fresh cilantro added a burst of herbal freshness, while the crunchy veggies contributed a satisfying crispness. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, with spicy, sweet, and savory notes dancing together in perfect harmony. It was truly a feast for the senses!

To start, Tanisha and I shared the mussels, which was so good. I still have not met a dish of mussels that did not disappoint. For my first drink, I had the Tiki Pineapple .....it was good, a little too much pineapple juice for me though, but otherwise still a good drink. Eventually, I switched to the French 75 that Tanisha was drinking since she was raving about it. So glad I did, as that became my drink for the rest of the evening. So light and refreshing, the only thing missing was the sun and and a patio.

For my entrée, I had the Chicken Tzatziki dinner which came with one chicken skewer, a Greek feta salad and a Greek poutine. It wasn't your standard poutine, it was more like fries sprinkled with feta cheese all over which I liked. I ended up having my salad for lunch the next day as I was full. I would say that for the salad the olives should have been pitted as I had a fork full and thought I cracked a tooth lol. Thank gosh I didn't, but overall everything was really good.

Service

The service was exceptional from beginning to end. Even in moments when our server was unavailable, other staff members seamlessly stepped in to ensure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delightful, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I would certainly return! The staff was not only prompt but also incredibly friendly, enhancing the overall experience.

The divas give this restaurant.... 4 snaps!!
