Nestled in the charming Village Square by the lake in Burlington, The Martini House offers an intimate dining experience that is both inviting and memorable. We went to this favorite spot to celebrate Tanisha's birthday.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere was lively and energetic as you step into this small, dimly lit establishment, you're immediately enveloped in a warm ambiance that sets the stage for a delightful evening. The music and conversations filled the air, creating a vibrant yet cozy environment that made us feel right at home. The dim lighting added a touch of elegance, perfect for a special occasion.

We had a reservation, but our table wasn't ready so we sat outside on the patio and had a drink while we waited. And yes, I said patio because it was THAT warm in October! Of course, you can't go to The Martini House and not have any martinis!

Drinks

Angie

The first drink I selected was the White Freezie martini, made with Sour puss raspberry, banana liqueur, lemonade and lime. This drink perfectly captures the nostalgic taste of a classic white freezie, offering a delightful blend of sweetness and refreshment.

My next drink was the Sour Key, made with Raspberry vodka, alize, sour puss raspberry,

lime and lemonade. This drink provides a sweet yet tangy experience, reminiscent of the beloved candy, making it a playful choice for those who enjoy a bit of zing.

My last drink is the Fuzzy Peach, this drink delivers a sweet and peachy flavor profile, evoking the juicy essence of ripe peaches and offering a satisfying treat for peach lovers.

Tanisha

To drink, I had a Negroni, which is made with gin, campari, sweet vermouth and orange, and a Royal Treatment, comprised of gin, prosecco and white cranberry. As you can see, both are gin based (my fave!). I ended up having a second Negroni because I prefer stronger drinks but both were really good!

Menu

Angie

I choose to enjoy appetizers. First I had the Whipped Feta, which was infused with a delightful basil flavor. The dish was complemented by the sweet notes of orange honey, and finished with a delicate pistachio tuillee that added a satisfying crunch.

Next I had the Goat's Cheese Torpedos. This appetizer featured a delightful combination of flavors and textures. The dish included strawberries, pink peppercorn, garlic, mint, and walnuts, creating a unique blend of tastes. Despite being a bit soggy, the flavors were well-balanced, with the sweetness of the strawberry sauce complementing the creamy, salty cheese. The walnuts added a satisfying crunch, while the hint of mint provided a refreshing finish.

Tanisha

This restaurant is an old favourite of mine. The food is always so good. I had the charcuterie as my main course, which was better before COVID but still pretty tasty.

As an appetizer, we shared the Goat Cheese Torpedos and calamari. The goat cheese torpedos are made with goat cheese in a sort of spring roll shell with strawberries, walnuts and mint. It is scrumptious and a must try, if you're a goat cheese fan! For the calamari, there was no sauce which kind of threw me off at first, but it actually didn't need it because the calamari itself was just that flavourful.

Service

The service at The Martini House was attentive and friendly, with staff members ensuring that our celebration was nothing short of perfect. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations, enhancing our dining experience. This level of service is pretty much expected at The Martini House, as it rarely disappoints!

The divas give this restaurant 4 SNAPS
