This restaurant is located inside the Pearle Hotel and Spa in downtown Burlington. It was the Taste of Burlington, so there was a prix-fixe menu- you know we had to take advantage of that!

Strike a Pose!

Atmosphere

Nads

The décor is nice and subtle from the moment you walk in and up to the door. The glass windows let you look out to the lake for a nice view.

Tanisha

The décor was bright and airy with gorgeous views on the Lake. As night fell, the lights were dim in the Restaurant but there are lamps at each table with a touch sensor so you can make it as bright/dim as you wish. I arrived first so I snagged the seat with the best view....perks of being on time! There is a coat check so you don't have to worry about having your coat at the table. The hostess offered to take my coat upon arrival, but I was a little cold so I opted to keep it with me. I do really like this service though...more restaurants should have this as an option during the winter months.

Angie

This restaurant is designed so nicely! The color scheme had my favorite color turquoise, which matched my blazer, gave me a nautical feel and I was loving the gold embellishments. The view of the lake was perfect from where I was sitting. I kept taking pics of the sunset as the night went on to show the beautiful transition of the colors in the sky. The kitchen was open so you could see the staff do their thing, which I thought was super cool.

Menu

Nadia

For the first course, I had Halloumi and if you are wondering what it is, it's a type of cheese. Don't worry I had to Google it too lol. The dish was good but it could have used just a touch more of the roasted jam in my opinion. Angie and I had the same dish and it reminded us of a gourmet grilled cheese.

For my second course, I had the 6oz Flat Iron with frites. The chili garlic compound butter was a nice touch on the steak but I wish it could have been a bit softer.

I had two kinds of desserts to choose from and I went with the season sorbet. They have five different flavors to choose from which was a nice variety. I had my heart set on the passion fruit but they were out so I opted for the mixed berry sorbet topped with goji berries. The goji berries had a sour kick to them but paired well with the cool taste of the sorbet.

For my drink, I chose the winter mule. I thought it was fitting given the weather plus it also had ginger beer, which I love.

Tanisha

As an Appetizer, I had the roasted cauliflower soup and it was really tasty. There was crispy artichoke in it which I didn't really like but it added great flavor to the soup. All in all, this soup was very good!

My main course was the 6oz flat iron. The chili garlic compound butter on this steak made the dish! It slowly melted onto the steak and the fries below as I ate. The meat was very tender...I like it medium well. I would absolutely order this again.

For dessert, I had the Lime lavender sorbet...amazing! This is for those who don't like sweets. I totally enjoyed this. It is sour, tangy and had hints of a Jasmine tea flavor - I guess that's where the lavender comes in. It reminded me of a lime Margarita, so if you like salt and sour over sweet, this dessert is for you! The server was a bit surprised that I actually liked it - I guess it's not a crowd favorite LOL! In any event, I highly recommend it.

For my first course, I had the Halloumi. The presentation was very nice, neat and clean.

The tomato jam was very flavorful and the cheese was crispy and salty. I made a little sandwich combo of everything together and man was it tasty! I originally requested the tomato jam on the side but I wished I had them slather it all over the cheese, cause damn... it was that good!

For the second course, I got the squash risotto, It was presented nicely. The risotto

was creamy and had a good texture, It had carrots that gave a wicked crunch.

Question? Do you eat risotto with a spoon or fork?

Dessert was not too sweet, but just sweet enough. I had the pomegranate cheesecake

The cheese cake was smooth and the pomegranate give it the perfect crunch. There was a crispy topping on top that kind of reminded me of Ramen noodles.

Service

Nads and Tanisha

Side note laugh... Angie stepped away from the table and we were just chatting away when a server came up to our table, folded Angie's napkin and walked away without a word. We were in mid conversation and it totally threw us off! We couldn't even remember what we were talking about after the fact LOL!

Tanisha

I also like that they bring you new cutlery before the main course. It's always a struggle to figure out where to put the cutlery between the appetizer and the main course. If you're anything like me, you don't want the cutlery to touch the table...maybe I'm a germaphobe - if you know, you know!

Angie and I shared a bottle of red wine. The servers were on point in that they continually topped up our glasses for us, as needed. The service was really good in this regard.

Angie

Our waitress, Sahara, was very friendly and prompt with the wine pourage... Yes, I know.. that's not a real word... but you wine drinkers know what I'm talking about. She is a fellow vegetarian, so she was helpful with my choice this evening.

We gave Isabelle 4 snaps because the atmosphere was beautiful, the service was on point and the food was fantastic! We will definitely go back to this restaurant at some point to review the full menu.

Until next time!
